Board Members

President – Steven Haggett is a cybersecurity specialist with over a decade of experience across government, industry, and managed service environments. He has held both technical and management roles, with expertise spanning governance, risk and compliance, security architecture, incident response, and penetration testing. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Network Technology, an Advanced Diploma in Computer Systems Engineering, and a range of industry-recognised certifications, including OSCP, IRAP, CISSP, CISM, CISA, and SABSA SCF.

 

Vice President – I Alam – With over 18 years of experience in Information Technology, Information Security, and Cybersecurity, I currently provide vCISO services at IA Cyber Security Consultancy. My focus lies in strengthening organisations’ cybersecurity posture through governance, risk, and compliance (GRC), risk management, incident analysis, and adherence to key frameworks and standards, including ISO 27001, NIST 800, and PCI-DSS. I work closely with executives and boards to address emerging threats and align security measures with business objectives.

 

Secretary – Benjamin Luck – Over twenty years of IT and cybersecurity experience, he has contributed to enhancing organisational resilience by applying my expertise in front-line management and proactive cyber defence strategies. With an approach that integrates a commitment to ethical technology applications and the safeguarding of critical systems to ensure operational integrity. A cyber career supported by recognized certifications such as CISSP, CISA, and CTIA, alongside proven management capabilities.

 

Treasurer – Maruf Ahmed – Cybersecurity professional with 15+ years of experience in risk assessment, information assurance, and enterprise IT security. Skilled in Windows, Linux, virtualisation, and cloud environments, with expertise in authentication, identity management, cryptography, and PKI. Experienced with NIST, ISO, SOC, and COBIT frameworks. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, with a focus on vulnerability assessment, risk management, and secure technology adoption.

 

Membership – Sean Finn – Sean has deep experience in providing mission critical ICT in internet-facing ecommerce systems and operational technology systems for Mining, Defence, Aviation and Health Care. Sean has acted as the final technical escalation point for incident response over a twenty-year period for these environments and has a deep passion for incident prevention and automating security into the software supply chain. Since 2000 he has incubated, developed and sold multiple small ICT Technology firms from the ground up in Datacentres, Webhosting, ISP and Ecommerce and has extensive practical commercial experience alongside his technical expertise. Sean is recognised as an Experienced Dev Ops Software Engineer, Solutions Architect, Internet Network Engineer, Commercial Hosting provider and a Mining and Defence Secure ICT Platform Engineer.

 

Mentoring – Dan Johnson – I am a committed cyber security leader with extensive experience in information and cyber security, risk management as well as compliance across government and private sectors. In my current role as Senior Manager – Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) at CyberCX, I lead a high-performing team in complex cybersecurity deliveries as well as directly influencing organisational information security posture through the provision of sound advice and direction.

 

SIG Groups

Student SIG Leader– Jovan Fersando – I have a background in International Business & Marketing (Hons) and am currently pursuing a Master of IT in Cybersecurity & Networks. While I’m still building my technical skills, I’m passionate about cybersecurity and how it connects with real-world business challenges. My goal is to grow as a Cybersecurity Consultant, helping bridge the gap between technology and business while collaborating with people to provide security solutions. I enjoy networking, learning from others, and working with clients to solve problems and strengthen security strategies.
